01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

En Su Boca is a vibrant Mexican restaurant nestled in the heart of Richmond, VA, offering an authentic taste of Mexico with a modern twist. Located at 1001 N Arthur Ashe Blvd, this eatery invites guests to indulge in bold flavors and generously portioned dishes that stay true to traditional Mexican cuisine while embracing fresh, local influences.

Step inside and you’ll immediately feel the warm, welcoming atmosphere enhanced by an open layout and large windows that flood the space with natural light. The lively patio, dotted with lush plants, offers an inviting spot to enjoy your meal al fresco—perfect for savoring the richness of their dishes in a relaxing, casual setting. Whether you’re dining in or out, the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between festive and intimate, making it ideal for anything from family outings to a night out with friends.

The menu at En Su Boca is a celebration of Mexican culinary staples characterized by vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. Popular dishes like the carnitas burrito stand out not only for their generous portions but also for the tender, savory pork that satisfies with every bite. The shrimp burrito bowl is another favorite, skillfully combining fresh seafood with traditional seasonings to create layers of texture and taste. Those craving simpler bites will find their chips and salsa impossible to resist—the thick, crunchy chips paired with three distinct salsas offer an irresistible snacking experience that customers rave about.

For a touch of sweetness, the sopapillas present a delightful finale: fried flour tortillas dusted with sugar and drizzled with a rotating sauce that teases the palate with just enough indulgence to leave you wanting more.

Complementing the food offerings is an impressive selection of drinks, featuring Mexican pilsners like Pacífico and Dos Equis alongside an intriguing lineup of craft beers sourced from local favorites such as O’Connor El Guapo Agave IPA and Allagash White. For those who prefer wine, the variety ranges from crisp Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc to richer reds like Malbec and Tempranillo, allowing for a perfectly paired meal.

But what truly elevates the En Su Boca experience is the attentive and friendly service. Several patrons mention their server Kate by name, praising her warm demeanor and efficiency even during busy times. The staff’s genuine hospitality makes a visit feel less like dining and more like being welcomed into someone’s home—an essential ingredient in any memorable meal.

Whether you’re revisiting Richmond’s local scene or discovering it for the first time, En Su Boca offers a lively, flavorful journey into Mexican cuisine that leaves you satisfied, delighted, and eager for your next visit.

Food arrived fast, the green house brand hot sauce is great. We got burritos, large portions and I got carnitas and the size and amount of pork was generous. Would recommend

My husband and I came here after going to the circus. We never get into the city these days and definitely never kid free, so this was an absolute treat for us. I used to come here all the time, but it's crazy how priority changes when you get older, and service is almost more important than food. Our server kate was a joy. Despite clearly being swamped, she remembered my drink order and placed the order for a second one! We spoke to the GM josh and he was so thankful to hear how she was. Food was good, don't get me wrong. But she was the sparkle of the evening!

Tacos were good. Chips and salsa are better than usual, thick chips, three types of salsa and, I’d say, worth the money. It was busy already when we arrived early on a Saturday evening (5:30PM). The atmosphere was very nice with a patio full of plants and very open layout. It wasn’t perfect. A member of my party who is vegan ordered their burrito without cheese but found cheese in the beans. In the green salsa, I found an avocado stem piece.. The meals here are definitely on the heavy side, with a lot of fried and oily food. But, overall, I would return because my food was good and the atmosphere and service were enjoyable.

Great experience! The Orange Crush was amazing! Chips and salsa are the best in Richmond, it is hard to stop eating them. I had the shrimp burrito as a bowl, very tasty! Everyone was so nice. My server, Kate was very friendly and attentive. Even the young woman who seated us was engaging. I will be back.

Really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts appetizer and Rajas tacos. My kids loved the chips and salsa. The chips are quite thick and crunchy. We were seated inside but the large windows were open, so it felt just as nice as outside.

What a fun place to have a drink and grab some Mexican food. The menu was simple and unique. Happy Hours are on Monday-Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM. A large margarita costs $7.50, $5.50 for rail highballs. $2 off on Burritos and Nachos Totopos. We happen to stopped by on a Wednesday, so we got Chicken Wings for $0.75 a piece. They only had Buffalo sauce, but it was very mild and delicious. The Grilled Street Corn was amazing, I absolutely loved it! Please note that Chips and Salsa will cost you $5, they are not free as most Mexican restaurants. Sloppy Jose Taco as awesome. I ordered a Slow-Roasted Carnitas Burrito with dirty rice and drunken black beans on the side since I was on a low-carb diet. To my surprise, they have filled the burrito with lots of meat. It didn’t not taste like the traditional carnitas, but it was very lean and had no fat. The burrito was not the best I had, but I am impressed with the quality and quantity. I would definitely go back on a warm day to have a drink with some friends at their nice outdoor seating area. Service was wonderful!

Delicious Mexican spot in Scott’s! Great happy hour deals. Impossible not to fill up on their delicious chips and guac/queso! But if you don’t fill up the main courses are quite scrumptious!

I had never been here before and showed up with a large group. Our server was so patient and kind while dealing with multiple tables besides our own. Amazing service and great atmosphere for late night drinks. I didn't get our servers name but she was fantastic.
